Rules run as Shopify Functions
Payment and delivery customizations, discounts and validation compile to WebAssembly and execute inside Shopify's own checkout — not in the browser. They can't be blocked by an ad blocker, they don't slow the page down, and shoppers can't work around them with devtools.

Questions, answered
Do I need Shopify Plus?
Not for most of it. Payment and delivery rules, automatic discounts, checkout validation, post-purchase upsells, and thank-you / order-status blocks work on every Shopify plan. Blocks rendered on the checkout page itself, and checkout branding, require Shopify Plus — that's a platform restriction Shopify enforces, not a paywall we added.
Will this slow down my checkout?
The rule engines run as Shopify Functions — compiled WebAssembly executing inside Shopify's infrastructure, not JavaScript in the shopper's browser. Visual blocks are native checkout UI extensions rendered by Shopify. There are no script tags and no theme modifications.
What happens when my trial ends?
You pick a plan. If you don't, the app locks: your configuration is preserved and backed up, but live checkout features are disabled until you reactivate. Nothing is deleted, and restoring is one click.
Does it work on development stores?
Yes, and free. Development stores get full access with no billing, so you can build and test everything before going live.
Can I edit checkout.liquid or my theme instead?
Shopify has deprecated checkout.liquid customizations. Checkout extensibility — what CheckoutOS is built on — is the supported path forward, which means your setup keeps working through Shopify's checkout upgrades.
